Sweet and subtle
On the recomendation of my mother, I began reading Jimmy by Robert Whitlow. This book is one of the first books I have found in a long time that truly touched me.
The main character Jimmy is innocent, sweet and endearing. Whitlow captures this without alienating even the most cynical of us.
I cried and then tearfully confronted my mother for not warning me that I would be so moved.
Whitlow does not need my praise, but I willingly give it. Well done, Whitlow. Simply well done.
